ABOUT

TEDxMSU is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, a TED-like conference setting features live speakers talking on multidisciplinary subjects combined to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. In my role as Curator, formally as Marketing Director, I oversaw a team of 68 students across 5 teams managing event marketing, speaker line-up curation, branding, venue management, registration, strategic partnerships, budget allocation, fundraising, and social media. It was a fantastic opportunity for me to exercise my leadership and management skills.

Conference Accomplishments:

  • managed and raised an record breaking event budget of $65,546.09
  • created over +224 social media posts
  • campaign reach 29K accounts( increase 189% YoY)
  • increased our followers by +27.8% over 90 days
  • managed orders for 5145 merchandise items
  • Generated external newsletter accumulating over 4,000 subscribers
  • Secured a long-term Strategic Partnership with International Student Association
