MKT 250 Personal Portfolio

MKT 250 Personal Portfolio
My MKT 250 class at Michigan State University took an unheard-of approach to introducing students to mindfulness, self-discovery, and personal reflection. Students were tasked in developing communication skills including use of digital media, delivery mechanics, persuasive speaking, memos, and email messages with a holistic approach to understand who we really are. There were no true grades, no tedious group presentations, just an academic syllabus established to connect us with our deeper introspective minds. This class has taught me why I feel certain emotions and how to cope with stress in a professional setting. For our final project we have been tasked with creating a personal portfolio describing who we are, what are values are, and the impact we hope to have as we set off into the world after college.

Who Am I?

The most heavy loaded question of them all…

In short, I’m a dreamer, as diametrically opposed to a realist as one can likely get in fact, who likes to actively exercise my mind by contemplating and researching such beloved interests in art, community engagement, and traveling the world. I am an extroverted introvert meaning I thrive in social settings yet I feel the most myself when I am alone. I am passionate in the way I always embrace big ideas and believe that anything is possible. I am a Free-spirit not bound to any stereotype and independent to the point of being rebellious. I am Introspective in the way I am able to understand and express my emotions in a healthy way. I am always seeking for a way to express my creative nature in the things I do, people I meet, and life I live.

If I could describe myself in 3 words, those 3 words would be

What are my values?

The greatest value I bring to the table is recognizable through my curiosity of the world around me and ability to connect with anyone I meet. With my open-minded perceptiveness I truly believe that no one is unimportant, and everyone can accomplish their dreams. My core values associated with creativity, curiosity, balance, and growth. Curiosity is the root which creativity stems from and in order for us to grow into are highest self we must dive deep into understanding our introspective minds. Life is also a balance in which I believe that sometimes you need to step outside, get some fresh air, and remind yourself who you are and who you want to be.

How am I currently impacting the world around me?

I believe that everything and everyone everywhere are connected. This is why I thrive to built deep emotional connections with everyone I meet as well as to be a connector amongst friends. I inspire those around me with my free-spirited creativity and the way I always seek for adventures that put me outside of my comfort zone. My compassion for everyone I meet almost surprises people inspiring them to be kinder. I strive to stay positive, hoping that my positivity can spread onto others.

What impact do I want to have on the Future?

I want to have such an enormous impact on this spinning sphere we live on that it is hard for me to narrow it down to just one. I want to instill communities of change wherever I may be and have deep insightful relationships that help everyone I meet connect to their highest self. I hope to manifest likeminded altruistic individuals like me who can help me make the impact that really, I am yet to discover is in its entirety. I know if I continue to manifest, dream big, and work hard one day Ill have everything Ill ever need in life. I think it is important to remember that going to a prestigious school and getting perfect grades is not what is going to help you achieve your dream life. To live your dream life one must combine hard work and manifestation. Its not only about the ideas you have, but the people you discuss those though-provoking ideas with. Its not about having the money or time to start a business but the desire and motivation to actually do it with resilience.

There is something new to try or do everyday that will give you a sense of progression in your life so DONT EVER GIVE UP or GET COMFORTABLE…even when you feel like your worst self stuck in your small college town, there is always more to life than the moment you are currently living.
